Abstract
Although studies present robust evidence that longer duration surgical procedures are associated with increased risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE), to date no studies have specifically addressed this risk in the context of hair transplantation. The aim of this case report is to draw attention to the need for thrombotic risk stratification prior to this type of procedure, since it can identify high-risk patients, even for procedures considered low risk for VTE.
